The team and ways of working: 

We’re based in the heart of Manchester City Centre, Union overlooking Albert Square. We’re a team of 20 that cover all People & Talent activity across all the Bruntwood Group including subsidiaries that overall account for around 1,200 colleagues.

We’re a close team that focuses on driving our values and supporting each other to deliver effective practices and an agile way of working that adapts well to change/growth.

Job purpose:

The People & Talent Team are the experts when it comes to finding, growing, and keeping talent. As a People Partner, your role is to work with leaders and managers to drive the delivery of our people initiatives within your business areas, ensuring teams are equipped to meet commercial goals while staying true to our values.

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Collaborating with our Senior People Partner and People/Talent leadership to implement strategies that directly support our commercial objectives.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with department heads to offer the guidance and professional challenge required to align team operations with our core values.
  • Partnering with the broader team to provide resources and experiences that empower colleagues to lead their own development and performance journey.
  • Leading on restructures, TUPE, and organisational change within your remit, ensuring every process is handled with commercial acumen and genuine empathy.
  • Managing the end-to-end colleague lifecycle - from onboarding to exit - to create a frictionless experience while constantly seeking ways to evolve our approach.
  • Leveraging data and internal insights to drive informed, strategic decision-making across the business.
  • Work with teams to identify and develop their talent and ensure we create as many career defining experiences for all our people e.g. learning resources, peer to peer learning, mentoring, job shadowing, projects etc.
  • Own the colleague life cycle and key people practices from onboarding, performance, pay & reward to exit to ensure the delivery of a seamless people experience and collaborate with the wider people & talent team to improve our approach.
  • Build capability in our management teams on how to facilitate team reviews, set goals, measure results and how to have regular and human conversations.
  • Manage ER cases mitigating risk to the business, coaching managers and colleagues to reach the best outcome

What we’re looking for:

  • A progressive, non-bureaucratic approach to HR.
  • Able to evidence hands-on experience in organisation change, employee relations and employment law.
  • A strong understanding of commercial drivers within a business, and how great people practices can enable business performance
  • A well rounded team player with enthusiasm to work together for a common good;
  • Strong balanced judgement and decision-making abilities;
  • Ability to coach, consult and challenge in a constructive manner, with confidence and resilience to influence at all levels;
  • Relentlessly data driven, with the ability to simplify, storytell and make recommendations to our Leaders
  • Relentlessly and passionately customer focused with the desire to provide a brilliant service.
