This role will be based at our head office based in the heart of Manchester City Centre - Union on Albert Square. Working on our city centre assets such as Pall Mall & Bloc.

Job purpose:

This role is a key multi-disciplined role that touches all aspects of looking after building assets within a wider portfolio. This role is one that works as part of a team of seven within a matrix, but with the freedom to use your specialist knowledge and creative thinking, to solve problems that support your wider team to achieve their ambitious goals.

 

What we’re looking for:

 

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying
  • Some experience as a Building Surveyor, whether this be a placement year or some experience beyond study as a foundation - the role could really suit you if you need wider APC support, and want to work on multi-use/industry led projects across pioneering office/lab and tech space.
  • A positive collaborator, with the role being client side you’ll work closely with internal development/operations and finance teams.
  • A passion for developing sustainable and innovative spaces, enjoying the process of thinking creatively and problem solving

 

What will you be doing:

 

  • Contribute to the delivery of projects within your cluster of buildings, using your knowledge of internal and external best practice, including life cycle analysis and preparation of service charge major project plans
  • Engage with a portfolio team delivering to a high standard, in line with customer expectations.
  • Responsible for the delivery projects from low to medium value and complexity, for assets and required Cat A & B fit-outs, using innovative and progressive solutions.
  • A focus on projects relating to; fabric, M&E, suite refurbs, fit outs and minor aesthetic schemes.
  • Consider budgets and costs, driving best possible value against a backdrop of in house benchmark data with support
  • Develop a full understanding of every element of the fabric and infrastructure of buildings in your portfolio, in order to provide joined up advice and decision making
  • To proactively manage the delivery of the portfolio strategic works/projects in line with asset plans
  • Support project handover from delivery to operations post PC as and when required and ensuring all snagging is closed out by respective delivery team.
