You’ll work with the existing payroll team of two with all of the monthly payroll activity across our five payrolls, which incorporates around one thousand colleagues.
We do need someone in the office working closely with the team 3 days a week, however these 3 days can be worked flexibly across the 5 day working week. As long as they’re consistent days week to week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday each week for example).
What we’re looking for:
- A hands on, credible expert when it comes to payroll. You’ll have an in depth knowledge and experience of payroll calculation, processing and legislation
- We work with Cascade, Timegate & Brain. It’d be beneficial if you know these systems but certainly not crucial. However it’d be great if you’ve worked on multiple systems to allow you to adapt quickly
- Working for complex organisations will be advantageous, managing multiple payrolls for overhead and operational colleagues
- You’ll be an analytical problem solver; as a logical thinker, you can think practically when challenges arise. You're proactive in anticipating issues and challenges, and you seek to create options for potential solutions and mitigate risks
- You’ll be patient and pragmatic when dealing with queries or challenges that arise
- You’ll be discreet and confidential when handling a large amount of sensitive colleague data.
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivery of end to end transactional and operational tasks for payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Provide day-to-day advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on payroll related matters.
- Build strong relationships with our third-party payroll service provider, highlighting any operational issues that may impact on the customer experience to the Payroll Manager.
- Ensure compliance on all legislative changes - particularly around NMW, RLW, Holiday Pay and pension
- Support in the administration of the pension scheme alongside the Payroll Administrator, ensuring compliance with auto enrolment regulations
- Working alongside the people team to further enhance the cross over of people and payroll activity
- Manually calculating and processing out of cycle payments for corrections when required. With an understanding of the impact that may have on future payments.
If you're interested in applying for the role please don't hesitate as we'll be conducting interviews prior to the closing date. We’ll be conducting a one stage face to face interview process at our Union office.
We’ll do our very best to get back to you within a week of your application, if you haven’t heard within this time please feel free to email talent@bruntwood.co.uk for an update.
