Ways of working and the team: 

This role will primarily be based at our head office in Manchester City Centre - Union, however we also operate across Leeds and Liverpool, so there will be some travel to these locations when needed.

Some examples of the space we operate in include (hyperlinked below): 

Bloc, Alderley Park, Circle Square, Pall Mall, West Village & The Exchange

You’ll work closely with another experienced Operations Manager, complimenting each other's skill sets to support 11x direct Area Cleaning Managers, as well as indirectly a large number of Cleaning Supervisors and Team Members. 

Expansion:

Unify goes from strength to strength - growing from 210 to 370 customers in 2025, and our growth plans are to reach 500 by the end of 2026. So it’s vital we scale in the right way, where this role will play a crucial part. 

What we’re looking for:

  • We’re open to all kinds of industry backgrounds, it is however integral that you have supported a large workforce of customer facing colleagues, whether that be but not limited to hard/soft services, retail
  • You’ll be a confident leader with the ability to manage direct and indirect reports effectively, listening to ideas, challenging where necessary, but ultimately creating a vision for the team to deliver, that is inspiring and aligns with our values 
  • You’ll be a Strategic thinker, leading strategic change and embedding initiatives with proven ability to influence at all levels.
  • Demonstrate a high level of resilience and adaptability when faced with conflicting business challenges, service challenges or tight deadlines
  • You’ll be collaborative, keen to work collectively to drive growth in line with the companies values and ambition

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Translate the Unify strategy into clear, well-defined operational plans that align with our culture and values
  • Leading from the front you will be responsible for managing, coaching and mentoring a team of Area Managers within a defined geographical location.
  • Review existing processes and procedures to ensure they are effective and will support future growth.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders that enable you to constantly improve the service
  • Identify operational risks and work alongside Health & Safety professionals to ensure all activities meet all relevant Health & Safety requirements. This will include ensuring an effective training plan is in place for all colleagues.
  • You’ll develop KPIs to measure performance and use your expertise to initiate and lead future focussed solutions
  • Collaborate with the Commercial team to support sales and deliver the account management strategy
  • Lead with compassionate; we care about our colleagues and so the expectation is to nurture and support our teams to encourage business growth in the right way. Considering retention and reward. 
  • Work with the People Team to develop a scalable engagement strategy that provides a structure for two way feedback, drives colleague engagement and supports customer retention.
  • You’ll set clear expectations, instill accountability and create an environment so colleagues are engaged, motivated and proud of the work they do.
  • Create a clear talent pipeline of colleagues capable of supporting our future growth plans.
  • Lead a team of Area Managers to deliver the Unify account management strategy consistently
