What we’re looking for:
- We’re looking for a qualified Accountant, either ACA/CIMA qualified, ideally from a consultancy background or a similar commercial industry.
- Someone who is inquisitive, open to questioning and can spot patterns in the detail. Confident in working with wider stakeholders and presenting financial information.
Job purpose:
This cross functional role is designed to bridge the gap between financial reporting and real-world asset performance. You will work directly alongside the local management team to understand the "why" behind the numbers, not only keeping score, but helping them to form the asset strategies, ensuring that they are reflected in the financial reporting and forecasting.
What you’ll be doing:
- Financial Reporting: Coordinate all aspects of financial reporting for asset management portfolios to monitor performance against business plans.
- Accounting Operations: Produce monthly flash accounts and full quarter-end accounts, including income, expenditure, and service charge management.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Manage quarterly forecasting and annual budgets, ensuring they are grounded in the actual operational realities of the site.
- Analysis: Prepare full quarterly analysis of P&L variances and reporting packs for the Head of Finance, identifying key trends.
- Process Improvement: Review opportunities for automation in reporting to deliver cost efficiencies.
- Commercial Support: Support the local team on commercial transactions with financial appraisals that consider the long-term strategic health of the asset.
- On-Site Partnership: Work physically within the local management team to gain a deep understanding of day-to-day operations and the specific strategic goals for each asset in the portfolio.
- Asset Strategy Alignment: Move beyond "reporting the numbers" by providing financial insights that help the local team execute the asset strategy, identifying risks and opportunities before they appear in the P&L.
