What we’re looking for in a nutshell:

We are keen to see applications from qualified finance professionals, ideally with CIMA, ACCA, or ACA credentials, and experience working as an accountant in an industry-based role.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about influencing change and take pride in their contributions, possessing strong financial accounting knowledge, along with proven experience in budget setting and forecasting. A highly analytical mindset is essential, supported by advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, enabling them to establish credibility and influence stakeholders at all levels. Additionally, the successful candidate should demonstrate sound judgement, initiative, and the ability to overcome obstacles by finding creative solutions.

Job purpose:

You’ll have the unique platform to redevelop the reporting suite, supporting stakeholders at all levels across the business, whilst taking charge of overhead management accounts. The role is positioned perfectly to make a significant impact, diversifying your skillset and raising your profile. 

The team is made up of innovative finance professionals; you’ll work Heads of, Finance Directors and other high calibre Accountants to catapult your career forwards. 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Reporting into the Group Financial Controller you’ll be responsible for the management of Overheads accounting across Bruntwood Group and Bruntwood SciTech including internal and intercompany recharging mechanisms.
  • Implementing robust monthly reviews of SciTech & Central P&L’s, providing support and commercial challenge, making recommendations for efficiency and identifying any risks.
  • Business Partnering with SciTech & Central Budget holders to ensure a business wide understanding.
  • Responsible for high quality monthly Overhead reporting with valuable variance analysis against budgets and forecasts to support business decisions.
  • Responsibility for annual Overhead Budget and quarterly reforecast process, managing the timetable and expenditure inputs with budget holders.  
  • Responsible for the management of billing and reconciliation for key Managed Services Agreements with the group joint ventures. 
  • Responsible for the annual Share Incentive Plan scheme, managing the accounting, HMRC requirements and communication of plan to colleagues across both Group and Scitech Schemes.
  • Responsible for the management of payroll procedures, HMRC requirements and working with the People team to ensure best practice.
  • Championing continuous improvement in processes around monthly and quarterly reporting, budget setting and forecasting.
  • Working with the Group Overheads Management Accountant on areas of shared responsibility and development of the wider Overheads team. 
  • Working with the Service Charge Management Accountant on areas of shared responsibility, to ensure best practices across the Central Services area
  • Responsible for the personal and professional development of the wider team.
