Job purpose:
As part of the Innovation Services team and reporting to the Head of Innovation, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of innovation programmes & events for tech businesses.
You will be the primary interface between early stage businesses, any programme sponsors and the rest of the SciTech team across the Oxford Road Innovation Corridor.
What you’ll be doing:
- Reporting to the Head of Innovation, you will help to shape, deliver and take the lead on a bespoke Innovation Services events programme across Circle Square (including MTC) & Manchester Science Park campuses that add value to our business support and ecosystem offering to customers and their surroundings.
- Develop the Manchester central SciTech events strategy, maintaining the events calendar and be accountable for the delivery of all IS events on campus, working closely with the marketing team to promote the events onsite and more widely.
- Collaborate with the our Innovation Partners and wider team to create a strong programme of events tailored to our technology customers.
- Work with operational and risk teams to create and embed event related systems, management plans, licensing ownership and team processes to mobilise and deliver all event types (from workshops to large outdoor pillar activations).
- Work closely with the wider team within the central Manchester campuses and customer community to curate an annual programme of relevant and engaging digital and tech focussed events, activities and campaigns, linking to themes of Digital Transformation, AI, Data, Advanced Manufacturing, Digital Festivals and ecosystem activity.
- Assist the Innovation services team in the delivery of workshops, bootcamps and events.
- Closely manage costs and budgets to ensure that we maximise both time and value.
- Report attendance at events and capture delegate feedback in order to improve the take-up and quality of all events run
- Be an active member of Bruntwood SciTech, and work with other events managers across the other campuses and sites.
What’s important to us:
- Experience of end to end event planning and delivery
- Experience of building effective working relationships, and of working in partnership with delivery partners, external suppliers and businesses
- Project management and report writing skills
- Ability to work effectively with multiple internal teams across the Bruntwood Group
- Knowledge of ERDF funding as well as exposure to innovation programmes is a nice to have but certainly not a must
- A passion for innovation and entrepreneurship would be beneficial - taking job satisfaction from supporting a business’ growth within the industry
