We are changing the commercial innovation landscape across other locations including; Liverpool, Birmingham, Leeds, Cambridge & Glasgow so there will be some travel required which will be subsidised.
Job purpose:
These roles play a pivotal part in supporting Bruntwood SciTech’s ambitious growth plans for its development pipeline, leading critical large scale projects from inception to completion. Along with senior colleagues you will have responsibility for shaping the development strategy, working with the Heads of Development to create and effectively execute the development business plan.
You will act as a leader in the business, upholding and role modelling our values, providing experience and support to Development Managers.
What you’ll be doing:
- Responsibility for the performance and delivery of key projects, including both new build and large scale refurbishment projects
- Working closely with M&A bringing forward viable opportunities for approval to support growth agenda
- Working closely with Asset Management to review opportunities for reinvention within the existing portfolio
- Developing and managing the relationships with senior level counterparts in external organisations
- Evaluating development sites, conducting research and presenting the information to allow informed decisions to be made
- Financial appraisal of opportunities, including scenario modelling and provide clearly written reports and analysis of development opportunities and new site acquisitions
- Bidding for new opportunities through processes such as OJEU and other similar public procurement methods
- Creating places for new communities – including concept design, master planning and place making
- Managing costs vs. return to ensure the correct balance throughout the project
- Working within a wider internal client team on schemes being delivered working with commercial, asset management, finance, and marketing.
- Collating reports for the Management team and to the Board.
- Potential for people management and mentoring as the team grows.
What we’re looking for:
- We’re looking for considerable Development experience on commercial developments from inception to completion.
- Previous experience within Technological/Life Science based commercial developments would be an advantage but essential. However a passion for the sector to accompany your experience will be crucial to truly innovate within the role
- Ability to build strong, key stakeholder relationships both internally and externally
- Experience of creating reports for the senior leadership team
- A true passion to build sustainably and influence the commercial landscape in a positive way
